Profile

Rod Syverson grew up in a dysfunctional home with an alcoholic father who daily criticized, threatened, and verbally abused him. This made him think that his only purpose in life was to be a target of his Dad's cruelty.

With the sense of having little hope in life and a very low self-esteem, Rod attended the University of California at Davis where his live would change forever. It was here that he was befriended by some other students whose lives were full of love and joy. They did not initially just tell Rod the message of God's love, but demonstrated it by loving and accepting him just as he was, something that he had never experienced before in his life.

This made Rod very curious about them and so it was through these new friends' life-style witnessing of God's love that led Rod to want to know and experience God's love for himself through faith in His Son Jesus.

As for the name of this ministry and his book, "God - The Father of My Dreams," this was the result of Rod dreaming and searching for a father's love beginning very early in life after never receiving words of affection from his Dad.

Thankfully, through faith in Jesus, this dream for love and acceptance has turned into a true reality, more than fulfilling and fully satisfying Rod's dreams and hopes for a loving Father in his life.

Rod Syverson, an international speaker and missionary based in Taiwan, has shared this message of the Father's love in churches, fellowships, and conferences in the United States, New Zealand, and Taiwan. He has a Master of Divinity degree (M.Div) from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (now called Gateway Seminary). He has more than 30 years of Bible teaching experience.
